Allstad's legal director, Stig Halvor Langmoen, congratulates Asgeir Føyen together with prize presenter and author Jo Nesbø.

Abildsø Farm is owned by a non-profit foundation that also operates a School Farm, an educational program within the school system with the same learning objectives, but in different settings and forms, because teaching is adapted to the opportunities available on the farm.

The Harry Hole Foundation recognizes Føyen's efforts as an example of dedicated social entrepreneurship with a special grant of as much as NOK 1 million.

Today, Abildsø School Farm provides 75 students from 30 schools in Oslo with an important supplement to the ordinary school program, with the aim of helping the students complete primary and lower secondary education so that they are ready for further education and employment.

A worthy winner

– We congratulate Asgeir Føyen on this well-deserved award and look forward to following and assisting in the further expansion and development of School Farms in Norway, says Allstad's legal director, Stig Halvor Langmoen. He was present at the award ceremony on 4 December to present flowers and congratulate Føyen on behalf of Allstad.

We would very much like to see more School Farms, and as part of Allstad's social mission, we currently offer a solution involving the rental of vicarages for socially beneficial purposes.

– We want to facilitate more School Farm programs in order to help students who need an alternative learning environment. Abildsø School Farm was established without our assistance, but we have used Abildsø as a model when collaborating with local operators to establish School Farms at vicarages we own. This is based on a good partnership with Asgeir Føyen.

School Farms have been established at Allstad's vicarages in Hommedal in Grimstad, Solum in cooperation with Porsgrunn Municipality, and Stokke in Sandefjord. Rauland in Vinje is being prepared to receive students from autumn 2025. Approximately 100 students currently attend School Farms operated at these historic vicarages. We are happy to engage in dialogue with local groups that want to establish similar programs in their municipality.
