OVF and its subsidiary CE are contributing to the care initiative the country needs
The six-acre plot in the centre of Sandnessjøen will be a construction site for the next year, before the important buildings are completed. The project involves replacing the old vicarage buildings with a new one that meets modern standards and can provide a good quality of life for older people.
On 6 March, the contractors were on site to carefully demolish Alstadhaug vicarage, also known as Stamnes. A photographer and the foundation’s vicarage inspector were also present to document and preserve building details. There was no alternative. Important building details were salvaged, and the plan is to construct a replacement building, as well as terraced houses, to meet the need for 24 care homes and associated buildings. Enabling more people to live at home places demands both on the design of the homes and on easy access to the necessary services required by those in need of care. On the large, historic vicarage plot, the aim will be to preserve as many of the trees in the terrain as possible and recreate the courtyard that once stood here.
For Alstadhaug Municipality, the project represents a multimillion-kroner investment, and it is the Otiumpluss project that will provide care services and housing. For the foundation’s subsidiary Clemens Eiendom, it is an important project that has progressed from dreams and plans to a milestone and a groundbreaking. Completion is targeted for summer 2024.
