Change of ownership in Molobyen to accelerate development in Bodø

The owners of Molobyen AS have now decided to adjust the ownership structure. Allstad and Løvold Solution AS are increasing their stakes in Molobyen by taking over the shareholding of Christian Jakhelln AS.
– The change of ownership in Molobyen will accelerate the development of the district, says Chairman of the Board Bernt Nordby Skøien.

Molobyen is a completely new district in Bodø, geographically extending across the area between Molorota and Bispegården in western central Bodø. – The company Christian Jakhelln AS is known for good urban and business development and will continue to focus on this in one of the subareas of Molobyen, which will now be under its ownership. The change of ownership in Molobyen will therefore accelerate the development of the district, says Nordby Skøien on behalf of the owners.

He explains that the new ownership structure will have no practical significance for homebuyers in Molobyen. The goal remains to create a pleasant, diverse and sustainable urban development for the future, with people at the centre.

– In the other blocks, the focus will primarily be on residential development, but also on business, culture, meeting places and a harbour promenade. Here, the owners Løvold Solution and Allstad will continue the development through Molobyen AS, says the Chairman of the Board.

He explains that all the owners are in strong agreement.

– And this means that the new ownership structure puts us in a very strong position for the continued development of the district, says Nordby Skøien.

Accelerating district development

He explains that Molobyen is now entering 2025 from a position of strength, with good prospects for construction to begin, detailed zoning and a new ownership structure.

– We can now develop several blocks simultaneously, thereby accelerating the development of Molobyen as a whole, which is very exciting, says the Chairman of the Board.

He believes that the change in the ownership structure is an important step in realising the urban development project as an extension of central Bodø towards the west.

Owner representative André Løvold of Løvold Solution is also positive about the progress of the project.

– We are all delighted with the good cooperation with the people of Bodø, the municipality and the city's business community. And those who choose to move here to Molobyen will have a unique location close to nature, city life, cultural offerings, the sea and everything Bodø has to offer. What was once an area for commercial and industrial activity is now being transformed into a new, modern and attractive district, says Løvold.

– Fully in line with our strategy

For Chairman of the Board Morten Jakhelln of Christian Jakhelln AS, the new change of ownership is fully in line with the company's strategy of focusing on urban and business development in Bodø.

– We have worked with urban and business development in Bodø for many years, and believe that the change of ownership strengthens the Molobyen project as a whole. And we will continue to work closely together, says Jakhelln.

He highlights the processes involved in the district development as thorough, innovative and forward-looking, with a focus on culture, people and the good life in the city.

– We have worked well together in the cooperation that has taken place, not least through participation processes to which everyone has contributed, he concludes.

Until now, Molobyen's development has been backed by three genuine owners passionate about Bodø: Løvold Solution AS, Christian Jakhelln AS and Allstad. They are now accelerating the project through a change of ownership. (Illustration photo: SchmidtHammer Lassen
