OVF properties for assisted living housing
Properties close to town centres
Through OVF, the state owns centrally located plots of land in municipalities throughout Norway. These are properties that historically belonged to the parsonage estate, and several of the parsonages are now ready to be developed for new community-building activities.
OVF’s wholly owned subsidiary, Clemens Eiendom (CE), is in dialogue with a number of municipalities throughout the country to explore the possibility of establishing assisted living homes. As early as March this year, construction will begin in Sandnessjøen in Alstahaug Municipality on 24 new assisted living homes located around the old parsonage. The parsonage will be incorporated into the project and transformed into a day centre with a base for the home-care service, thereby giving it a new social purpose. In addition to meeting the individual’s care needs, the project will also facilitate efficient operations through easy access to expertise and qualified personnel, thereby reducing operating costs. Enabling more people to live at home places demands both on the design of the home and on easy access to the necessary services required by those in need of care.
Care housing initiative
As a result of the increased need for nursery places, a “Nursery Initiative” was implemented a few years ago, to the benefit of children and parents and resolving a challenge facing society. Now it is time to address the challenge of establishing sufficient assisted living homes. There is a significant unmet need. OVF and CE want to—and can—contribute to a “Care Housing Initiative” that will enable older people and others in need of care to enjoy the best possible quality of life in their own homes! - The old parsonage estate is given new life – for the benefit of individuals and the community.
