Clemens Kraft currently produces 700 GWh at its power plants and plans to build three additional small-scale hydropower plants in the years ahead to help meet Norway’s growing demand for electricity, says Knud Nørve, Managing Director of Clemens Kraft. Last year, the company also established the energy company Geisli AS together with Hydro REIN, with the aim of building solar power plants on suitable plots owned by OVF in Southern Norway in the years ahead.

During the opening of the Salhuselva hydropower plant, Knud Nørve also emphasised the importance of such power development for the local community. The state and municipality receive tax revenues, while the landowners receive rental income. In addition, the development has produced positive knock-on effects, as a road has been built up to the intake, which people with cabins in the area can use, and the region’s holiday homes will have access to locally produced electricity. – In this way, the power development contributes to local community development in many ways, said Knud Nørve.

Clemens Kraft is a long-term industrial small-scale hydropower operator, 51% owned by OVF and 49% by the Swiss COOP pension fund CPV. – We build to own and operate, and look forward to a long and successful collaboration with the municipality and landowners, says Knud Nørve.
